Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:6279

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from Humayd ibn Hilal al-‘Adawi, from Abu Burdah, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu’bah, who said: I ate garlic, then I came to the prayer place of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I found that he had preceded me by one rak’ah. When I stood to complete [my prayer], he sensed the smell of garlic. He said: "Whoever eats from this plant, let him not approach our mosque until its smell goes away." Al-Mughirah said: When I finished the prayer, I came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have an excuse. Give me your hand." He said: I found him, by Allah, to be easy-going, so he gave me his hand. I inserted it into my sleeve to my chest, and he found it bandaged. He said: "Indeed, you have an excuse."
