Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from al-Jurayri, from Hayyan ibn ‘Umayr, who said: I was with Qays ibn ‘Abbad. He saw a man praying who had brought his hand out from near his throat. He said: "Go to your companion and say to him: 'Let him place his hand in the place of the hand of the shackled one.'" So I went to him and said to him: "Qays says: 'Place your hand in the place of the hand of the shackled one.'" He said: "So he placed it."
