Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Muhammad, who said: I was informed that Abu Bakr and ‘Umar used to teach the people: "Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, and establish the prayer which Allah has obligated at its appointed times, for in neglecting it is destruction."
