Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 3:960

Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Usama bin Zayd, who said: Ibn Shihab narrated from Urwah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray the Isha prayer when the horizon turned black. And sometimes he would delay it until the people had gathered.
