Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Jarir informed us, he said: Rashid ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn Humayd al-Sakuni—and he was one of the companions of Mu'adh—from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, who said: We waited for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the Isha prayer until he was late, to the point that a speaker said: "He has prayed and did not come out," and a speaker was saying: "He has not come out." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out to us, and the speaker said: "O Messenger of Allah, I thought that you had prayed and did not come out." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perform this prayer late, for you have been favored by it over all other nations, and no nation before you has prayed it."
