Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1028

Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Layth, from ‘Ata’, who said: If the blood ceases from her, and her husband is overcome by sexual desire and fears for himself regarding it, then let him command her to wash her private part, then he may have intercourse with her if he wishes.
