Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1076

Ghundar narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-Hakam, from Mujahid, that he said regarding the one afflicted with smallpox and those like him: "If there is fear for them, they are in the status of the traveler; he performs tayammum."
