Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1082

Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibrahim ibn al-Muhajir, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad: He said: "The person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) does not recite."
