Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1107

Hafs narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from ‘Abdullah ibn Salamah, from ‘Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to recite the Qur’an to us in every state, as long as he was not in a state of major ritual impurity (junub).
