Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1110

Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, from Ata, regarding a man who urinates and then recites the Quran. He said: "It is more beloved to me that he be in a state of purity, unless he is reciting a portion of a verse or something [small]."
