Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1122

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Usama narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Mujahid, that when Umar would urinate, he would perform tayammum. He said: "I perform tayammum so that the glorification (tasbih) becomes permissible for me."
