Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1203

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Uthman ibn al-Aswad, from Ata’, that he used to see no harm in a man wearing a ring and entering the privy with it, and having sexual intercourse while wearing it, even if the name of Allah is upon it.
