Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1224

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Ata’, from Abu Harun al-Aslami, from his father, from Ka’b, who said: Musa (peace be upon him) said: "O my Lord, are You near, so that I may speak to You privately, or are You far, so that I may call out to You?" He said: "O Musa, I am the companion of whoever remembers Me." He said: "O my Lord, we are in states in which we deem it too great or too exalted to remember You in them." He said: "And what are they?" He said: "Janabah (major ritual impurity) and the privy." He said: "O Musa, remember Me in every state."
