Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1281

Waki’ narrated to us, from ‘Umar ibn al-Fadl, from Hayya bint ‘Abd Allah, from ‘A’ishah, that she said: "Smear it [the henna] on it during the prayer, a smear; for I used to do it, and I was the best of the young women, or my sisters, in dyeing."
