Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1303

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Zayd ibn Wahb, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasana, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came out to us while in his hand was something like a small shield. He placed it down, then sat and urinated towards it. Some of them said, "Look at him, he urinates as a woman urinates." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard him and said, "Woe to you! Do you not know what happened to a man from the Children of Israel? When urine would touch them, they would cut it away with scissors. He forbade them, and he was punished in his grave."
