Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1330

Ibrahim ibn Sadaqah narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, regarding a man who spat and saw blood in his spittle: That he did not consider that to be anything until it was thick blood, meaning in the spittle.
