Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1688

Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn Thabit, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, that he struck the earth with his hands one strike, then he wiped his face with them. Then he struck the earth with them another strike, and he wiped his forearms with them up to the elbows.
