Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1689

'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Burayd, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: When the verse of Tayammum was revealed, I did not know what to do. So I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, but I did not find him. I set out searching for him, and I met him. When he saw me, he recognized what I had come for. He urinated, then struck the earth with his hands, and wiped his face and his palms with them.
