Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1827

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, who said: I was informed that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saw Hudhayfah and he moved away. He said, "Did I not command you?" He replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but I was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub)." He said, "Indeed, the believer does not become impure."
