Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1863

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Hisham al-Dastawa’i, who said: Hammad narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Jadali, from Khuzaymah ibn Thabit, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) appointed for the traveler to wipe [over the socks] for three [days]. And had we asked him for more, he would have increased us.
