Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1878

Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, he said: al-Muhajir, the freed slave of the Bakrat, narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, from his father, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, set for the traveler to wipe [over the socks] for three days and their nights, and for the resident for a day and a night.
