Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1945

Hushaym narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Salim, who said: Mujahid and some companions of his, among whom was 'Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah, went out. He said: They went out as pilgrims, and 'Abdah would lead them in prayer. He said: One day he went out for his need and was slow to return to them. When he came, Mujahid said to him: "What detained you?" He said: "I finished my need, then I performed ablution and wiped over my leather socks." When he came, Mujahid said to him: "Step forward and lead us in prayer, for I do not know what the status of your prayer is."
