Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:1993

Hafs narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from al-Hasan, who said: He used to say, "The socks and the sandals are in the position of the leather socks (khuffayn)." And he did not consider it permissible to wipe over one of them without its companion.
