Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:247

Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Hisham, from Fatimah bint al-Mundhir, that she used to wipe over the sides of the face (the cheeks/temples). And she had indeed met the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
