Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:619

Narrated to us Sharik, and Hushaym, and Ibn Idris, from al-A'mash, from Abu Wa'il, from Abdullah, who said: We used to not perform ablution (wudu) from stepping on [the ground].
