Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Sa’d ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, regarding the person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) washing his head with marshmallow (khatmi): He said: "It suffices him."
