Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 1:805

Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Ubayd Allah, from Nafi’, that the wives of Ibn Umar and the mothers of his children would perform ghusl (ritual bath) for janaba (major ritual impurity) and menstruation, and they would not undo their hair, but they would be thorough in wetting it.
