Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:155

Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the selling of date palm fruit until it shows color. It was said to Anas: "What is its showing color?" He said: "It turns red or yellow."
