Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:169

Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "My father has exhausted my wealth." He said: "You and your wealth belong to your father." And it was mentioned that Abu Hanifa said: He does not take from his wealth unless he is in need, so he spends upon him.
