Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:177

Abu Usama narrated to us, from al-Walid ibn Kathir, who said: Sharhabil Abu Sa'd narrated to me that he entered al-Asyaf and hunted a *nahs*—meaning a bird—there. Zayd ibn Thabit entered upon him while he was with it, and he twisted his ear and said: "Let it go, may you have no mother! Do you not know that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, declared sacred what is between its two lava fields?"
