Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:224

Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid and ‘Ata’, he said: I asked them about a woman who arrived in Mecca for an ‘Umrah, then she menstruated, and she feared that the Hajj would pass her by. They both said: "She should enter into the state of Ihram for Hajj and proceed." And it was mentioned that Abu Hanifah said: "She becomes one who abandons the Hajj (rafidah), and she owes a sacrificial animal (dam) and an ‘Umrah in its place."
