Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:251

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Abu Ja'far al-Khatmi, who said: My uncle sent me and a servant of his to Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib. He said: "What do you say regarding sharecropping (al-muzara'ah)?" He said: "Ibn Umar used to see no harm in it, until he was told a hadith regarding it from Rafi' ibn Khadij, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to the Banu Harithah and saw crops on the land of Zuhayr. He said: 'How beautiful are the crops of Zuhayr!' They said: 'They do not belong to Zuhayr.' He said: 'Is the land not the land of Zuhayr?' They said: 'Yes, but he has sharecropped it to so-and-so.' He said: 'Return his expenses to him and take your crops.'" Rafi' said: "So we took our crops and returned his expenses to him." And he mentioned that Abu Hanifah said: "His crops shall be cut."
