Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 35:294

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that he used to pray upon his riding beast and perform the Witr prayer upon it. He said: "And the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to do that."
