Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1006

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Habbab narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from Bakr ibn Uthman, who said: I used to purchase the increase in the stipend in Khurasan with silk and dirhams. Then I performed Hajj and asked Salim, and he said: "I dislike it with dirhams, but there is no harm in it with trade goods." I asked Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, and he said the same. I asked 'Ata', and he said the same. I asked al-Hasan and Ibn Sirin, and they both said: "We dislike it with dirhams, and we see no harm in it with trade goods."
