Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1049

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, from al-Awwam, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, that Umar, when there was charity (sadaqah) and he returned it to him, he would see that he should direct it toward the same thing it was originally for.
