Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1211

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from Muhammad, who said: He used to say regarding a man who buys a garment, then sees a defect in it after it has changed from its original state: It is more beloved to me that he keeps it and deducts from its price the amount of the defect.
