Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1318

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Simak, from Hanash bin al-Mu'tamir, from Ali, who said: Two men disputed before him regarding a mule. One of them brought five witnesses [testifying] that it was born in his possession, and the other brought two witnesses [testifying] that it was born in his possession. So he (Ali) divided it among them by drawing lots.
