Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1354

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali ibn Mushir, Abda, and Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Khalid, from al-Sha’bi, regarding a man who took a runaway slave in order to return him, then he (the slave) escaped from him. He said: There is nothing upon him.
