Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1356

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from al-Sha'bi, from Shurayh: That a man took a runaway slave, then [the slave] ran away from him. He said: So the master of the slave came and brought him before Shurayh. Shurayh said: "He had already run away from you before him, so there is nothing upon him."
