Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1396

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Ma’mar, from al-Zuhri, from Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib, he said: The protected area (*harim*) of a newly dug well is twenty-five cubits, and the protected area of an ancient well is fifty cubits, and the protected area of cultivated land is three hundred cubits. Al-Zuhri said: And it has reached me that the protected area of a spring is five hundred cubits.
