Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1572

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Sayyar, from al-Zubayr ibn ‘Adi, that a *dihqan* (landowner/chief) accepted Islam during the time of ‘Ali. ‘Ali said to him: "If you remain on your land, we will lift the *jizya* from your head and take it from your land. And if you move away from it, then we are more entitled to it."
