Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa’id, he said: Nafi’ informed us that two men from the people of Iraq asked Ibn Umar at al-Abwa’. They said: "We left Ibn al-Zubayr selling the mothers of children (umm al-walad) in Mecca." Abdullah ibn Umar, Abu Hafs Umar, said: "Do you know him?" He said: "Any man from whom a slave girl bears a child, she is his enjoyment during his life, and she is free after his death." "And any man who has intercourse with a slave girl and then neglects her, the child is his, and the responsibility for the loss is upon him."
