Hadith 13:1675
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Safar, from a man from Banu Rawas, who said: I found three hundred dirhams, so I announced them weakly, and I was in need on that day, so I consumed them when I did not find anyone who recognized them. Then I became wealthy, so I asked Ali. He said: Announce them for a year; if their owner comes, then give them to him. Otherwise, give them away as charity. And if he comes, give him the choice between the reward [of the charity] or that you pay it back to him.
