Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1685

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Talha bin Yahya, from Abdullah—who is the freed slave of the family of Talha bin Ubaydullah—he said: A man asked Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The man said to her: "Does one find a whip?" She said: "There is no harm in it; the Muslim may strengthen his hand with it." He said: "And a sandal?" She said: "And a sandal." He said: "And a container?" She said: "I do not permit what Allah has forbidden. The container is that in which the provision is kept."
