Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:172

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from al-Nadr ibn Anas, who said: My father gifted me half of his house. Abu Burdah said: "If it pleases you to possess that, then take possession of it, for Umar ibn al-Khattab ruled regarding gifts (al-inhal) that whatever of it is taken into possession is valid, and whatever of it is not taken into possession is inheritance."
