Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:1978

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Safwan bin Isa narrated to us, from Burdan bin Abi al-Nadr, who said: I had sold food to a man, and the man gave the wage of the measurer. So I asked al-Sha'bi about that, and he said: "Give it [the wage] yourself, for it is only upon you."
