Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:2005

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Sa’id ibn ‘Ubayd al-Ta’i narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn Rabi’ah, that ‘Ali appointed a man from Banu Asad, who was called Dubay’ah ibn Zuhayr or Zuhayr ibn Dubay’ah. When he came, he said: "O Commander of the Faithful, things are gifted to me in my work, and I have brought them to you. If they are lawful, I will consume them; otherwise, I have brought them to you." ‘Ali took them and said: "If you had withheld them, it would have been misappropriation (ghulul)."
