Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:2014

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Habbab narrated to us, from Husayn ibn Waqid, he said: Abdullah ibn Buraydah narrated to me, from his father, that when Salman came to Medina, he came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with a gift on a tray and placed it before him. He said: "What is this?" He said: "A charity for you and your companions." He said: "I do not eat charity." So he took it away. Then he came to him the next day with the like of it. He said: "What is this?" He said: "A gift for you." So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to his companions: "Eat."
