Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:205

Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi Za’ida narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Thaqafi narrated to me, from Shurayh, that he judged regarding a man who hired an animal from a man to [go to] al-Radma, but he exceeded the time [limit] with it, and it became ruined and died. So he imposed upon him the wage up to the place that he had specified, and he held him liable for the animal when he violated [the agreement].
