Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 13:211

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Dawud ibn Abi Hind, that a man bought goods from a man on credit, and he (the buyer) kept them. A fire broke out among them at night and burned some of it. I asked al-Sha'bi about it, and he said: "It is from the wealth of the one in whose possession it is."
